FINAL BLOG POST
I am finally done with this book, i mean i had no problem with the book it was good and all but is was a bit confusing to follow the plot at times and the vocabulary was a little over the...OK a lot over the top confusing. The plot was hard to follow, i mean the first chapter was all about a prision door, I really didn't get that when I first read as o know that most probably didn't either, and the chapters just got more confusing from there. And to add to the confusing plot we had the vocabulary ohhhh the vocabulary, almost each and every page, more oftem that not, had either words I didn't know or outdated words that no one used anymore. Although the book was a good interesting book, it took time to follow what was going on, and some assistance from the analysis from sparknotes. I know I'm not the only kid that went to sparknotes when the plot line got a little confusing. But my main point is that the book is done and over with.
Not that I had a problem with the plot, or the story line, but I mean it could have been presented in a way that made it easier to understand. I probably would have really loved the book if i didnt haved to stop and reread pages because i didnt get what exaxly was going on, or if i didnt have to stop every two seconts and pop open a dictionary. And the overall plot is just about two characters who commit adultery have a kid and the father hides in shame for like 75% of the book, while the mother is forced to deal with their "demonic-elf child" Pearl. She is more intelagant that your average child and therefore was outcastes from when she born. Then later when that drama queen of a father finally decides to speak up and confess that he is the father he dies, once again leaving his mistress and daughter being with the cruel puritans. Pearl leaves, marries a noble man, and Hester stays to live out her life being outcastes and hated. AND THATS HOW IT ENDS! THATS HOW THE DANG BOOK ENDS! Dimmesdale dies, Pearl leaves, Hester gets traped in shame for ever, and you know what Chillingsworth feels useless now that his little torture doll is dead. Also with that being the plot I think everyone can agree that the books plot could have been portrayed in many ways that would have made the plot much more clear.
After the fact that I am done with this books redicouls plot I am also 100% done with! Its! Vocabulary! Its confusing and makes the book that much harder to read. I mean talk about hitting a few bumps in the road, the whole road was one giant bump! Every single page, and I'm almost willing to bet on this, had at least one word I didn't know the meaning or recognized, weather it be my lacking word bang in my cranium, of the fact that people don't talk like that anymore! I mean there are metaphors in the book that make me go "what?", or " how does that make sence?". I have never got more confused with a book in my life so far, although I would never consider calling it boring. And with all of that being said, even though I enjoyed the book once I began to understand it, and by no means do i intend to offend those who enjoyed the book more than I did, or the author, I have to say I am more that glad to put it behid me and kiss that book good bye
